The beginning<\/div><\/div>

It was through the \"vision\" of Manuel Monteiro, a young businessman from the capital who already had several years' experience in the field of ocular optics, that the Valbom Optician in Cascais was opened... once simply the \"Cascais Optician\".
\nIts aim came from a simple premise: there was no offer of this type of service and anyone who wanted to access it would have to travel to the major center of Lisbon. <\/p>\n

The second adventure<\/div><\/div>

The second store opened in Estoril, also simply called \"Oculista do Estoril\", initially located on Avenida Marginal, in an iconic building with a small turret, just uphill from the train station.
\nThis store catered for a somewhat select clientele, since it was the late 1950s, a historical period when the Costa do Sol was home to some of Europe's elite, and when the Casino do Estoril was known for having inspired the adventures of James Bond, created by Ian Fleming, a British spy who was a frequent user. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The contactology and visual examination service was started in Cascais, resulting in an increase in sales and the production of ocular prostheses, and an evolution towards an integrated and complete primary eye care service.
\nAt the Estoril store, this service began in 1980, when the premises were moved to their current location in Arcadas do Parque, near the Estoril Casino, as it housed a larger, more modern space with better parking capacity for its customers.
\nWith this change, Oculista Valbom was not only the pioneer of optical services on the line, but also began to include some of the most up-to-date diagnostic and treatment methods in the country, at the most advanced level of European best practice. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

After twenty years of pioneering in this area of activity, other competing opticians appeared, at which point it was decided to name the stores after the place where it all began, on Av.
\nValbom, in Cascais, and was renamed \"Oculista Valbom\".
\nEleven years later, the opportunity arose to collaborate with the Optivis\u00e3o brand, of which it was one of the founding opticians and which quickly became the largest Portuguese optical group, so Oculista Valbom felt that this would bring more quality and a wider range of products and services to its customers, which it did and with a partnership that continues to this day. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\nIn the consulting rooms, we carry out vision examinations, contact lens fittings, eye pressure measurements, visual field analysis, ocular fundus examination, corneal topographies, orthoptic sessions and visual training. <\/p>\n
