The optometric examination is the test where your entire vision is analyzed.
\nIt is carried out by an optometrist with the aim of identifying the motor, sensory and functional state of the visual system and obtaining information on how to compensate for any refractive defects found.
\nThis compensation can be done by prescribing lenses or other types of ocular prostheses, or by referring the patient to the necessary specialist: psychologist, ophthalmologist, occupational therapist, general practitioner, neurologist, among others.
\nOptometrists do not use any medication or techniques that are invasive to the human body.
\nAll the equipment used is observational and aimed at quantitative and qualitative assessment of the state of vision.

The term “visual field” refers to the entire area that is visible to each of an individual’s eyes, when they are fixed on a certain point.
\nThere are various eye abnormalities that cause a progressive loss of peripheral vision, until it reaches central vision.
\nThe test to measure visual fields is called Campimetry (or Perimetry).
\nThis test indicates the blind fields – areas where there is no longer vision – that exist in the eye.
